Overview
FleetApps is a real-time group location sharing app. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we store it, and your rights regarding that data. We have written this policy to be concise and plain-language.
By using FleetApps, you agree to the practices described here.
FleetApps is operated by NYRAI LLC (26 Maple Way, Boylston, MA 01505), the data controller for the purposes of this policy.
Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Email address — used for account creation and sign-in via Supabase Auth.
- Display name — chosen by you; shown to other members of your session on the shared map.
- Precise location — your GPS coordinates, collected only while you are an active participant in a live session. Location collection stops immediately when you leave or end a session.
- Travel mode — your selected mode (e.g., driving, walking, cycling) used to display the correct map icon.
We do not collect:
- Contacts, photos, or any other device data
- Coarse location outside of an active session
- Advertising identifiers or device fingerprints
- Crash reports or analytics beyond what Apple provides to all App Store developers
How We Use Your Data
- Authentication — your email authenticates your account. We do not send marketing email.
- Real-time location sharing — your precise location is broadcast to other members of the session you have joined, for the duration of that session only.
- Display — your display name and travel mode appear on the shared map so session members can identify you.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.
Location Data
Location is the core feature of FleetApps. We treat it with extra care:
- Location is collected only when you are in an active session. It is not tracked in the background at any other time.
- Your location is visible only to other members of the same session — not to us, not to the public.
- Location data is stored transiently in Supabase and is purged within 24 hours after a session ends via an automated cleanup process.
- We never sell or share location data with third parties for advertising or any commercial purpose.
Data Storage and Security
All user data is stored in Supabase, a cloud database provider hosted on AWS infrastructure in the United States. Supabase enforces row-level security (RLS) policies — your data is only accessible to you and the session members you choose to share with.
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We follow Supabase's security practices and keep dependencies up to date.
Data Retention
- Session location data — automatically deleted within 24 hours after a session ends.
- Account data (email, display name) — retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). Deletion is permanent and removes all associated data from our systems.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Supabase (supabase.com/privacy) — authentication, database, and real-time data sync.
- Apple Maps — used for map rendering and navigation within the app. Apple's privacy policy applies to map tile requests.
We do not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or social media SDKs.
Children's Privacy
FleetApps is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you (contact us via email below)
- Correct inaccurate data (update your display name in-app)
- Delete your account and all associated data (in-app, Settings → Delete Account)
- Withdraw consent for location sharing (leave or end your session at any time)
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
